Water efficient practices can save time, money and water by minimising water use and maximising cleaning efficiency.

Using less water produces less wastewater that needs to be treated and discharged. Reuse and recycling of water can have significant long term benefits for your business and the environment if well planned and managed.

• Use water efficient hose attachments, such as trigger guns, low water use nozzles and high pressure washers. Don't let any hose or tap run when not being used.

• Sweep workshop floors and outside paved areas instead of hosing them down. Reduce the need to hose down by using drip trays to catch minor leaks and cleaning up small spills immediately with a rag or a mop and bucket.

• Consider replacing water-hungry lawns with low water-demanding shrubs and mulched beds.

• Check if there are any restrictions on using drinking (potable) water for activities such as watering garden areas and washing vehicles.
