Executive Director - Mick Gentleman

Mick has been the Executive Director of MTA ACT since September 2010.

Background

Prior to joining MTA ACT Mick worked with the local office of CPR - a public relations firm that helped businesses and community organisations to get in touch with Government - which is Mick's speciality.

As a member of the ACT Legislative Assembly from 2003 to 2007 Mick developed good contacts on both sides of politics and in the ACT and Federal parliaments.  Mick also has good relationships with many of the senior bureacrats in the ACT Public Service.

These contacts enable Mick to work actively on behalf of MTA ACT members to get things done and to influence Government policy and legislation to benefit our members.

Mick has a long history with the motor trades - starting his career as an apprentice mechanic and continuing his interest in motor vehicles throughout his adult life.

Mick is actively involved with Australian motor sport as a Rally navigator and is also a member of the ACT Veteran Motor Cycle Club.  Mick recently competed in the Australian leg of the World Rally Championship.
